Have Unwanted Gift Cards? Sell Them!

It happens... sometimes you'll receive a gift card as a gift, for your birthday, or even for winning a sweepstakes/IWG and it's for a store you rarely go to or don't shop at, at all. So what do you do with it? Give it away to someone else? Let it sit around forever and forget about it? Why not sell it for something you can use?
This happened to me recently. I had received a $25 Macy's gift card after winning an Herbal Essences Instant Win Game. There aren't any Macy's stores nearby, and I rarely if at all shop there. I don't like using store gift cards online because shipping would be taken out of it as well. I decided, why not sell it? So I began searching for sites that buy and sell gift cards and came across a few of them, but ultimately decided to try out Gift Card Rescue. It was quick and easy. I entered what my cards were that I was selling and what they were worth. I chose to receive an Amazon Gift card as a payment and it quickly told me how much money I would get for selling the card. I then went on to mail them my gift cards. I was a little nervous at first, because I sent them in the regular mail without tracking or anything. Maybe around a week later I received an email that they had received my cards, and a day after that I received my gift card code in my email. Quick, easy, painless, and I now have $$ I can spend somewhere I actually buy things. I will definitely be using their site again when I have more unwanted giftcards.

Steps to Take When Selling a Gift Card:
1. Search for sites that buy gift cards.
2. Separate the legit from the scam. You can do this by checking out the site, but also searching for customer reviews of the sites. If you see an overwhelming majority of disappointed people, avoid the site.
3. Compare Prices. If you've found a few sites you'd be willing to use, start the process to find out how much they will pay you for your card so you know you're getting the best deal.
